MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — A 37-year-old Indianapolis man was sentenced Monday to 16 years in prison for an armed robbery in 2024 at a Muncie check-cashing business.
Judge Judi Calhoun sentenced James H. Johnson in Delaware Circuit Court 1. He’d pleaded guilty to a mid-level felony count of armed robbery and received the maximum sentence under Indiana law. Deputy Prosecutor Maricel Driscoll argued for the maximum sentence, citing Johnson’s prior criminal record, which includes four previous convictions for robbery or armed robbery.
