AG Rokita sues IPS for ‘obstructing ICE efforts’ in schools

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has filed a lawsuit against Indianapolis Public Schools for reportedly “obstructing federal immigration enforcement efforts.”

The lawsuit filed in Marion Superior Court 5 on Thursday claims that IPS has maintained sanctuary policies that “frustrate” Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s ability to work by restricting access to school grounds and prohibiting employees from assisting ICE.

In January, Rokita claims IPS staff reportedly thwarted ICE’s efforts to deport an undocumented person who had already agreed to leave the country voluntarily…
