BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — The crowd chanted in Spanish on the steps of the Boone County Prosecutors’ Office in Lebanon.
In any language, they were calling for justice in the killing of Maria Rios, who was shot to death on the front porch of a home in Whitestown housing development last week.

Investigators believe Rios was a housekeeper arriving at the wrong address and was killed by a gunshot fired through a closed front door.
”This should not happen to anyone,” said a translator speaking on behalf of Rios’ husband, who had accompanied her on the housekeeping assignment. “As he states, this is something happening to Latinos today, but this could happen to anyone for making a simple mistake or arriving at the wrong location and this could happen to any American as well.”…
