MONROE COUNTY, Ind. — A convicted child molester from Westfield has also been charged with multiple child molesting counts in Monroe County.
According to court documents recently filed in Monroe County, 45-year-old Richard Harmon was charged with:
- Two counts of child molesting, each a Level A felony, from November 2006
- One count of child molesting, a Level C felony, from November 2006.
According to court documents, a victim came forward in July 2022 that she had been molested as a juvenile by a man later identified as Harmon. She said that Harmon reportedly molested her from the age of 6 until she was 12 years old in both Monroe and Marion counties.
This comes after the victim was reportedly approached by a woman on social media who alleged she knew Harmon’s “dirty little secret.” The victim was reportedly sent photos of Harmon exposing himself to the victim as a child by this woman, also stating that Harmon reportedly “bragged about abusing her and how he liked to have sexual intercourse with children.”
In an interview with the victim, she reportedly said there had been “more incidents with Richard than she could count,” which reportedly started when he groped her and attempted to make out with her when she was six.

After that first incident, the incidents allegedly became “more frequent,” including an instance where Harmon reportedly raped the victim. The documents said that the victim told law enforcement that Harmon used “manipulative tactics” to keep her from saying anything and told her “that she was a bad person if she told on him, or that she would be ruining other people’s lives if she said anything.”…
