INDIANAPOLIS— An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officer is giving thanks into his second year of recovery after a crash hospitalized him.
IMPD Officer Michael Kermon was a 22-year veteran of the force when he was on his way to work in his patrol car on a snowy Sunday afternoon in February of 2024 along northbound Kentucky Avenue in Camby.
Kermon didn’t know it because he couldn’t see it, but IMPD Officer Michael Buckel was up ahead, stopped on the inner shoulder of the road, helping a motorist whose mattress had flown out of the back of a pickup truck and landed in the lane of traffic…
