Docs: Man in wheelchair killed man over a stolen vape in Fishers bar shooting

FISHERS, Ind. — An Indianapolis man has been charged after an argument escalated into a Noblesville man getting shot and killed Monday in a Hamilton County bar.

Maclean Murt, 31, was allegedly at the Britton Tavern in Fishers when he noticed a friend of his was arguing with a man, later identified as Justin Burton, over a stolen vape.

According to court documents, Murt, in a wheelchair, rolled over and tried to get his friend’s vape back from Burton. After an altercation where Murt’s wheelchair was tipped backwards, he shot and killed the victim.

How the shooting happened

The Fishers Police Department was called to Britton Tavern around 2:45 a.m. on a report of a person shot. When they arrived, they were told someone had been shot in the face near the bathrooms.
