INDIANAPOLIS — An 18-year-old is accused of gunning down his father and his father’s girlfriend on Thanksgiving Day and setting fire to the house afterward even though two young children were still inside.
According to court documents, Jaren Morgan fled from the burning home on Indy’s east side in a black and white Dodge Charger. Roughly an hour later, Whitestown police began chasing after him on I-65 due to his erratic driving. Officers had no idea, at the time, that the driver was a murder suspect.
Middle finger held defiantly out the window, Morgan refused to surrender even after a spike strip blew out his tires. He eventually was forced off the road, crashed into trees, and had his Charger’s windows blown out as the car was filled with pepperball rounds. He finally relented and was taken into custody.

It was only later, though, that police learned the true extent of the crimes Morgan allegedly committed just an hour earlier.
