HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. — A Fortville man is facing a slew of felony charges after police say he kidnapped, beat and raped a pregnant woman last week.
According to court documents, 33-year-old Michael Allen has been preliminarily charged with the following:
- Rape (Level 3 Felony)
- Two counts of Criminal Confinement (Level 5 Felony)
- Kidnapping when Commited using a Vehicle (Level 5 Felony)
- Two counts of Domestic Battery with Bodily Injury (Level 5 Felony)
- Kidnapping (Level 6 Felony)
- Domestic Battery (Level 6 Felony)
- Interference with Reporting of a Crime (Class A Misdemeanor)
Missing person case leads to felony charges being filed
Police began investigating Allen on Dec. 14 when an officer with the Fortville Police Department was called to investigate a missing person reported out of Fortville. The detective learned that an officer with the Ingalls Police Department had led the initial investigation, which centered on a woman who was initially reported missing the day prior.
