INDIANAPOLIS — The Marion County Adult Detention Center (ADC) will no longer hold Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees for extended periods due to overcrowding, which exceeds its budgeted capacity.
Marion County Sheriff Kerry Forestal said in a statement released on Monday that the Marion County Sheriff’s Office continues to house around 175 individuals who should be detained in state prison facilities. This continues to cost the sheriff’s office around $3 million every year.
