Court docs: 21-year-old woman killed in south Indy shooting was shot during fight between her boyfriend and his stepbrother

INDIANAPOLIS — A woman killed in a shooting on Indianapolis’ south side was shot during a fight between her boyfriend and his stepbrother, according to court documents.

The Marion County coroner has identified the victim as 21-year-old Cierra Marie Gingles.

The shooting was reported around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 in the 5000 block of Shelby Street, just south of Thompson Road. When officers arrived, they found a man who believed he had been shot, but it turned out only his clothing had been struck by gunfire…
