Plainfield man, previously convicted in fatal drunk driving crash, takes plea agreement in new OWI charges

NEW CASTLE, Ind. — A Plainfield man who went to prison as a teen for causing a deadly drunk driving crash has accepted a plea agreement for his new OWI charges stemming from a 2025 arrest.

Timothy Hughes signed a plea agreement in Henry County on Jan. 23, admitting to a felony charge of OWI while endangering a person. The agreement calls for a four-year prison sentence. Four misdemeanor charges will be dismissed.
