Fishers responds to major snowstorm, HSE announces e-learning day Monday

Hamilton County officials and first responders with the City of Fishers are asking residents to stay off the roads as crews work to clear a significant amount of snow that started Saturday evening, continuing unabated for about 24 hours.

Hamilton County Emergency Management issued a travel warning, which limits vehicle travel to essential trips only. The Fishers Police Department was more direct in its plea to citizens.

“Stay home!! Our officers and road crews can’t do what they need to do because they are constantly helping people who have gotten stuck,” FPD stated in a social media post. “There are lots of slide-offs as the roadways are still in poor shape. DPW is working tirelessly to clear the roads but the continued snowfall, wind and travelers are making it difficult. The side roads are nearly untouched because the main roads are the priority right now.”…
