Extreme cold may have killed 3 in Indianapolis, Marion County coroner says

INDIANAPOLIS — The Marion County coroner says at least three people may have been killed by the brutal cold that has fallen on central Indiana since Jan. 24.

“Due to the environmental conditions in which the individuals were found, including extremely low outdoor temperatures and limited or unknown heat sources, cold exposure cannot be ruled out as a potential contributing factor in any of these deaths,” Marion County Coroner Alfie Mcginty said in a statement.
