Indianapolis teen charged with killing his barber is now a suspect in 19-year-old’s death

INDIANAPOLIS — 13News has learned that an Indianapolis teenager already arrested and charged with one murder is suspected of shooting and killing another man months earlier when the suspect was just 15.

Dominique Sherman, 16, made his first appearance in adult court last week. Sherman is charged with the Nov. 8 murder of his barber, 35-year-old Stephen Coach, at 39th and Pennsylvania streets. Court records say Coach had gone to the CityView Apartments at 38th and Meridian streets, where Sherman apparently lived, to trade a watch for a gun from Sherman.

Court records say investigators have collected surveillance video from several sources of Sherman and Coach together in the area that night, including doorbell camera video of the moments right after the shooting. Sherman allegedly fled the scene in Coach’s car after shooting him.
