Warmer weather will be returning to Indiana before you know it, and so will a very deadly pest.
While Indiana isn’t home to dangerous creatures like lions, tigers, bears, alligators, or other animals that strike fear into the minds of people who come across them, that doesn’t mean we don’t have dangerous creatures in the Hoosier State. In fact, one of the most deadly animals we have here in Indiana is one that is typically thought of as cute. That, of course, is deer, as they account for many accidents on the roadways. However, the most dangerous animal in Indiana also happens to be the most dangerous on the planet.
The Deadliest Animal on the Planet
Often overlooked as the most dangerous animal on Earth, this pest is responsible for more than 750,000 deaths worldwide. That animal, or rather insect, is none other than the mosquito. According to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
The mosquito is the world’s deadliest animal. Spreading diseases like malaria, dengue, West Nile, yellow fever, Zika, chikungunya, and lymphatic filariasis, the mosquito kills more people than any other creature in the world.

While I am not a fan of this cold, winter weather we have been experiencing here in Indiana, I am certainly happy that we don’t have to deal with mosquitoes on top of that. I don’t know about you, but I always have a BAD mosquito problem in my yard. I can’t even walk outside for two minutes without swatting those pests away. It’s a nuisance that nobody wants to deal with. Not to mention the fact that they carry and pass on multiple deadly diseases. The biggest ones would be Malaria and West Nile Virus.
