A woman was shot on Indianapolis’ near southwest side Monday and later died at a local hospital, according to police. Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Sheffield Avenue, where they found the victim and called for medics. The case is now in the hands of Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives.
According to WTHR, IMPD officers were dispatched to reports of a person shot in the 1300 block of South Sheffield Avenue and arrived to find a woman in critical condition. Medics rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
