EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — On Tuesday, Indiana Governor Mike Braun signed House Bill 1250 into law.
The bill, introduced by Rep. Tim O’Brien, requires the Indiana Department of Corrections to notify law enforcement and the county or community’s prosecuting attorney when they’re releasing a serious violent felon. Victims would also be notified, and must be at least seven days before the release.
