INDIANAPOLIS – A homeless man is behind bars after being accused of murder following a deadly shooting at a homeless encampment on Indy’s southwest side last year.
Police were called to the scene in the 700 block of S. Tibbs Avenue on July 17, 2025, at approximately 4:39 p.m.
The victim, 25-year-old Vince Gruber, was shot in the back of the head with a shotgun while sleeping in a lawn chair.
