Far east Indy house fire causes significant damage, displaces 2 people and their dog

INDIANAPOLIS — A weekend house fire on Indianapolis’ far east side caused significant damage and displaced two people and their dog, officials said.

The fire happened Sunday, March 8 in the 4000 block of Steelewater Way, near 38th Street and North German Church Road.

Responding Lawrence Fire Department crews, assisted by the Indianapolis Fire Department, found flames coming through the roof of a two-story home, which they worked to keep from spreading to two neighboring homes…
