Roselawn, Indiana – A confirmed large tornado is on the ground in northwest Indiana Tuesday evening, threatening communities in Jasper and Newton counties as it moves east at roughly 25 mph and puts residents in immediate danger.

According to the National Weather Service in Chicago/Romeoville, the tornado was confirmed by trained weather spotters at 7:26 p.m. Tuesday near Roselawn, just east of Lake Village. The warning remains in effect until 8:15 p.m. CDT for northeastern Newton County and northwestern Jasper County.
