INDIANA — More than 19,000 homes and businesses across Indiana are without electricity Friday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
The outage tracking service reported 19,265 customers without power out of more than 3.2 million customers monitored statewide, representing about 0.6% of customers. Indiana currently has the fifth-highest number of power outages in the United States, according to the site’s latest update.
Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) reported the largest number of outages, with 8,178 customers without electricity.
