INDIANAPOLIS — Demolition is underway on some long-vacant buildings at the corner of 22nd and Meridian streets to make way for a new affordable housing project.
It will eventually become the site of M22, which will include 127 apartments and options for commercial space. Crestline Development and Near North Development Corporation are working on the project.
The city of Indianapolis did not know how long the demolished buildings had been vacant, but the Department of Business and Neighborhood Services said there’s a history of unsafe building investigations, with one occurring as early as 2017.
