First lady Maureen Braun tells Hamilton Southeastern students about important role Indiana has played in nation’s history

FISHERS, Ind. — Indiana’s first lady Maureen Braun spent part of Thursday visiting with students at Hamilton Southeastern High School, part of the U.S. Department of Education’s “History Rocks! Trail to Independence” tour.

The tour encourages high school students across the country to learn more about the nation’s founding principles and strengthen civil literacy amid a landmark year in American history.

On Thursday, March 26, 250 9th through 12th graders at the school took part in interactive games aimed at a better understanding of American history, and particularly the role Indiana has played in it.
