Firefighters return to same vacant houses for 4th time in 90 days after another fire breaks out on Indy’s near east side

INDIANAPOLIS — Firefighters returned to same vacant houses on Indy’s near east side for the fourth time in 90 days after another fire broke out Monday morning.

IFD said responded to a double house fire in the 300 block of North State Avenue, near East New York Street, around 4 a.m. March 30.

When crews arrived on scene, they said they saw heavy fire, and that previous fires have severely compromised each house’s structural integrity…
