INDIANAPOLIS – An Indiana State Police lieutenant who thought he’d come across a disabled vehicle quickly put life-saving training to good use.
Lt. Jeff Hearon stopped to check on the vehicle around 2 p.m. Tuesday on I-70 near downtown Indianapolis. He quickly realized the gravity of the situation, according to a social media post from ISP Sgt. John Perrine.
An 82-year-old woman was in full cardiac arrest as a family member desperately tried to help. Hearon started CPR and continued for nearly 10 minutes until additional assistance could get there.
