Maggie Zoiss saw the Coxhall Gardens grounds in Carmel as a perfect place to go fly a kite, or several of them.
“I had been to a Kite Festival in Mackinac Island, and I believe there was a similar event in Zionsville a decade or so ago,” Zoiss said. “I also belonged to a homeschool group that had invited the Hoosier Kitefliers Society to lead a workshop teaching our kids how to make their own kites. When I joined the Coxhall Guild in 2022, I was looking for a way to give back to the community and invite them to enjoy the Coxhall Gardens park, and after seeing Pat Reibold, a member of the Hoosier Kitefliers Society, flying his stunt kites at the park as I drove down Towne Road, the idea came together.”
The second Kite Festival is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 25 at Coxhall Gardens, 11677 Towne Rd. Zoiss, Kite Festival chair, said the first one was a success…
