LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (WKRC) – Drivers who rely on the Carroll Cropper Bridge between Kentucky and Indiana will soon see some relief after more than a year of traffic backups tied to ongoing repair work.
The Carroll Cropper Bridge connects Boone County, Kentucky, and Dearborn County, Indiana. Drivers have dealt with backups since a repair project began in December 2024, after inspections revealed repairs were needed to some of the bridgeβs steel components. Both directions were reduced to one lane in December 2024, leading to traffic backing up on both sides of the river.
The steel repair project was completed on Christmas Eve of 2025, and crews reopened the westbound lanes. But the repaired areas still needed to be repainted to help ensure the fix β and the bridge β lasts for decades to come.
