As a homeowner in Carmel, I strongly oppose the payment of $55,000 to Daniel Parolek’s California-based consulting firm Opticos Design.
Mr. Parolek is apparently going to introduce a plan for high density so-called “missing middle housing” into our quiet single-family neighborhoods. We moved to Carmel to enjoy a specific, low-density lifestyle. Replacing this with multi-family units and apartments ruins the character of Carmel and often involves tax exemptions that shift the burden onto existing homeowners.
