Brownsburg man charged with driving while high on pills in crash that killed 34-year-old passenger

YORKTOWN, Ind. — A Hendricks County man faces a felony OWI charge after he allegedly crashed his car into a pole along IN-32 in Yorktown while high on pills, killing a 34-year-old passenger.

Brett M. West, 51, of Brownsburg, was charged this week in Delaware County with one count of causing death when driving with a controlled substance in the blood. The charge is a Level 4 felony that is punishable by up to 12 years in prison.
