Man charged in Memorial Day shooting with minors present in North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A man is now in custody after an overnight shooting sent another man to the hospital on Memorial Day in Wake County.

According to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies rushed to a call of a shooting around 12:30 a.m. Monday on the 6100 block of Horseshoe Drive, right on the border of Raleigh and Garner.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies said the victim sustained serious injuries in the shooting and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office announced the arrest of Kelvin Rivera-Bonilla, 31, in connection with the shooting.
