Beloved Raleigh Taproom Mordecai Beverage Co. Calls Last Round After Six Years

Mordecai Beverage Co., the Gateway Plaza bottle shop and taproom that helped shine a light on Raleigh’s craft-beer scene, is closing after roughly six years in business. The owners thanked regulars and neighbors for their support and said the taproom will open for a few final days to move remaining merchandise and share last pours in person.

As reported by WRAL, the brewery’s Instagram post called it “an incredible honor and privilege to serve this community for the past six-plus years.” The message did not give a firm last day of service, instead noting the taproom “will be open for a couple more days this week” so guests can pick up gear and say goodbye face to face.

Mordecai opened in Gateway Plaza in 2019 and quickly settled into its role as a neighborhood bottle‑shop brewery.
