Craven County Sheriff’s Office seek suspect in fraud case

CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — The Craven County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a recurring fraud suspect.

Law enforcement officers are looking for Natesha Lashay Cheeks, 30 years old and of Garner, for her potential role in several felonies involving fake money. Detectives reported that Cheeks has been visiting businesses in Craven and Jones Counties and purchasing gift cards with fake $50 bills.

Cheeks is being charged by the Craven County and Maysville Police with felony possession of counterfeit instruments, uttering a forged instrument, obtaining property by false pretense and felony conspiracy. The Garner Police Department is charging Cheeks with misdemeanor child abuse. NC Probation and Parole are seeking Cheeks for an active parole warrant…
