It is officially game week for the Virginia Tech football team and first-year head coach James Franklin, but the ACC had some teams kick off their season this past weekend in Week 0. There was a lot of criticism of the conference going into the weekend, but for one weekend, the ACC made an early-season statement.
It started with North Carolina upsetting TCU, 15-10, in Ireland as Bill Belichick got some revenge for last season’s 48-14 loss to the Horned Frogs. Just how good is UNC going to be this season? That remains to be seen, but with a difficult schedule ahead, if the Tar Heels are going to rebound from a 4-8 season, they needed to win in Dublin.
