Duke University Police Department notified multiple students of car break-ins in the Blue Zone parking lot Tuesday afternoon.
Several vehicles in the B4 section of the lot were found with smashed windows, and it appeared that a perpetrator had rifled through contents of glove compartments and center consoles, according to photos obtained by The Chronicle. Three students reported that nothing had been stolen from their vehicles, even though items of value — including Apple Watches and purses — were left inside.
Junior Amy Wolter said she received a call from Duke Police at 1:29 p.m., followed by a voicemail from officer Richard Pennington informing her someone had broken into her car.
