A fight last Tuesday, September 15, led to assault charges against Kameron Gilchrist and Shawn Lane, who had recently been in a dating relationship. The allegations include a forehead contusion suffered by one man and bite-related injuries to the other’s hand, arm and torso.
Warrants allege that Gilchrist struck Lane in the forehead, causing a contusion, while Lane struck and bit Gilchrist in the hand, arm and torso, resulting in numerous lacerations, according to thencbeat.com. Gilchrist was additionally charged with misdemeanor domestic violence because of the men’s recent dating relationship, the outlet reported. A judge set a $1 unsecured bond for each man and ordered them to stay 100 feet apart.
A Familiar Name in Wake County Court Records
Gilchrist also has a prior case involving an alleged assault at UNC Rex Hospital. Warrants alleged that on March 21, 2025, he sprayed blood into the eyes of two hospital workers in Raleigh while being treated for diabetes-related issues, according to CBS 17. It was unclear whether the blood belonged to Gilchrist or whether either employee contracted HIV, WRAL reported. Gilchrist faced two charges of assaulting emergency personnel and was held on a $25,000 bond, with a court date set for December 8.
The available accounts place Gilchrist’s arrest on September 11, 2025, nearly six months after the alleged hospital incident. WRAL’s October 7, 2025, report also says authorities arrested him on September 11.
