Gov. Josh Stein said Sunday that he doesn’t oppose a proposed combination of WakeMed and Atrium Health after updates to the deal unveiled over four months ago.
Wake County leaders are set to vote Monday on changes needed to advance the proposal, which was announced with little prior notice May 1 and quickly faced backlash, including from top state officials.
