State transportation officials are proposing a major expansion of a section of Poole Road in southeast Raleigh, a project aimed at addressing growth and easing traffic congestion in the area.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) presented plans Monday night to widen Poole Road from Barwell Road to Hodge Road from two lanes to four. The project would also include two additional bridges across the Neuse River, including one designed to accommodate pedestrians and connect to the Poole Road Park
