Jesse’s Law and Sheremy Dillard’s aunt reflects on losing beloved niece to domestic violence

Nearly two months have passed since beloved Wake County coach and teacher Sheremy Dillard was found dead in her home, a loss that continues to send shockwaves through her family and community.

Her aunt, Wilma Dillard, shared how difficult the grieving process has been, “We’ve had to clean out her apartment and her home and that lets you know she’s not coming back anymore. You know, things are becoming final and just the thought of going on without her is very, very difficult. Hard to grasp life without her. Holidays are coming up now.”

Sheremy Dillard was more than a teacher and coach; she was a mentor to countless students. She worked as a recovery teacher and served as the head girls’ basketball coach at Felton Grove High School in Apex…
