2-year-old girl dies from injuries after shooting at Durham apartment complex, police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A two-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries Friday afternoon after a shooting at a Durham apartment complex last Thursday, according to the Durham Police Department.

At 8:14 p.m. on June 20, the Durham police responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 1400 block of East Cornwallis Road. When officers arrived, they said that a man, a woman and a toddler had been shot.

Officers said that the man and woman had non-life-threatening injuries while the 2-year-old girl had life-threatening injuries.

Police said that this investigation remains active and no other information is available at this time.
