DANVILLE, Va. (WNCN) — Leaders for a brand-new casino in southern Virginia — about an hour from Durham — has scheduled a date for its grand opening next month.
On Friday, Caesars Virginia officials said the $750 million casino resort in Danville is set to officially open its doors on Dec. 12. The long-time planned resort near the N.C. border is less than 80 miles from Raleigh and 57 miles from Durham.
Caesars and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians opened the Danville Casino, a temporary facility, in mid-May 2023.
The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians previously confirmed the full casino — with 1,400 slot machines and 80+ live table games — was on track to open in December.
The Caesars website said they are now accepting reservations in the 320-room luxury hotel for April. Nightly room rates on the Caesars website list weekend rates at $699 nightly and weekdays at $499 in April.
