Moore Square is set to become the go-to destination for Raleigh residents looking to unwind with a blend of cinematic nostalgia and contemporary flicks under the stars. The First Friday Market and Movie series, an initiative by the city, extends an inviting mix of free entertainment suitable for all ages, as detailed by the City of Raleigh’s official announcement. The series, which runs through November, kicks off with a diverse line-up boasting everything from animated sequels to iconic sci-fi and spook-filled comedies.
Starting on Aug. 1, attendees can look forward to the sequel of Pixar’s hit “Inside Out 2 (2024),” with subsequent months featuring classics and recent blockbusters alike. The eclectic selection aims to cater to a wide audience, with the Steven Spielberg-helmed “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)” and a nod to Tim Burton’s style in “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024).” The series will conclude on Nov. 7 with “The Princess Diaries (2001),” as reported. It’s a seasonal offering set to quickly turn into a much-anticipated monthly staple.
Beyond the movies, the event promises to be a foodie’s delight with food trucks serving from 5 to 9 p.m., accompanied by live music starting at 5:30 p.m. The combination of mouth-watering eats, toe-tapping beats, and the silver screen under the evening sky creates a community-centric atmosphere that’s hard to replicate. The added bonus of a local artisans’ market presents the perfect opportunity to browse and buy from Raleigh’s own creative talents while enjoying quality entertainment…
