Staff member injured while intervening in Knightdale High School cafeteria fight; student charged

A Knightdale High School staff member was hurt on Friday after two students got into a fight, according to a town spokesperson.

It happened at Knightdale High School on Bryan Chalk Lane. After a student walkout ended, a fight broke out in the cafeteria, during which a staff member sustained a non-life-threatening injury to their forearm while trying to intervene. They were treated for their injury, according to the spokesperson.

A 16-year-old female was taken into custody and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Inflicting Serious Injury, Knightdale Police Department confirmed. She is being held at the Wake County Juvenile Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond…
