Woman shot near in Durham near Loyal Avenue and Drakesway Court, police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A woman was shot Monday after at an intersection in Durham, police said.

Officers with the Durham Police Department responded to a gunshot wound call at the intersection of Loyal Avenue and Drakesway Court in south Durham around 4:32 p.m. Once on scene, they found a man who said he had been involved in “domestic dispute resulting in him shooting an adult female,” according to police.

The woman who had been shot drove herself away from the scene, police said, and ended up about a mile and a half away at the intersection of East Woodcroft Parkway and Pebble Creek Crossing, which is just off Barbee Road. According to police, EMS responded to that location and took her to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries…
