Attorneys for accused Raleigh mass shooter to argue medication use, ‘diminished capacity’ in court

RALEIGH, N.C. (WBTV) – The defense for the teen accused of killing five people and injuring two others in a mass shooting in Raleigh announced their strategy for the trial.

In a notice of defenses issued on Oct. 1, Austin Thompson’s attorneys wrote they would argue that he had “diminished capacity” and voluntary intoxication from legally prescribed medication.
