UNC-Chapel Hill professor reinstated after investigation into alleged ties with politically motivated group

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — UNC-Chapel Hill has reinstated a professor who was linked to groups believed to call for politically motivated violence after he was found to be no threat to the campus community.

The university placed Dwayne Dixon on administrative leave on Monday. An investigation into Dixon followed with several agencies combing through his past conduct.

On Friday, the university said it “found no basis to conclude that he poses a threat to university students, staff, and faculty, or has engaged in conduct that violates university policy.”…
