A Wake County Detention Center inmate has died after a medical emergency.
On Nov. 10 around 3:30 a.m., detention officers noticed Orin Gist, 62, suffering from a medical emergency, according to a press release from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office. Detention and medical staff attempted life-saving measures while EMS was called. Gist was then transported to the hospital by EMS, where he later died.
