Man convicted of killing Wake County deputy Ned Byrd sentenced on gun possession, escape charges

A man convicted of the murder of a Wake County deputy was sentenced to an additional seven years in prison on Monday.

Alder Marin Sotelo, one of two brothers serving prison sentences for the murder of Wake County sheriff’s deputy Ned Byrd, got the additional time for an escape from a Virginia detention center.

He is already serving a life sentence without parole for Byrd’s murder…
