Man could face life in prison, death penalty for allegedly shooting WakeMed Garner officer

RALEIGH, N.C. — A man accused of shooting and killing an officer at WakeMed Garner made his first appearance in court on Monday, according to CBS affiliate WNCN.

Benji Martin Jr., 29, appeared for less than two minutes, where the judge read his charges and agreed to continue the case until Dec. 15, according to WNCN.

If convicted, Martin Jr. would face life in prison or the death penalty…
