Raleigh Seeks New Recruits for 911 Center Training Academy with Attractive Starting Salary

Raleigh and Wake County are on the lookout for new group of individuals prepared to step up to the plate and serve more than 1.19 million residents. The city’s Emergency Communications 911 Center has opened the application period for its Training Academy, inviting candidates to apply from Nov. 26 to Dec. 17, as reported by the City of Raleigh’s official announcement.

Beginning on Feb. 19, the academy will train candidates over 12 to 14 weeks to become proficient call takers or telecommunicators, all while drawing a starting salary of $49,100, even if they step into the role with no prior experience. Applicants will need to submit their forms by 11:59 p.m. on the closing date of Dec. 17, with succeeding candidates then taking them through a series of employment skills tests known as the CritiCall assessment.
