From her early years as a math teacher to her distinguished tenure in the North Carolina House of Representatives, Gill’s journey reflects an unwavering commitment to equity, opportunity, and excellence in education.

A Foundation Built on Education

A proud product of the Wake County Public School System, Rosa Gill earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Shaw University, later completing advanced studies at North Carolina State University, North Carolina Central University, and Duke University. Before entering politics, Gill devoted 24 years to education, teaching mathematics at Garner High School and Enloe Magnet High School, where she also served as student council advisor and coach for girls’ varsity tennis and track.
